David’s professional background started at age 16 by serving five years as an articled clerk with a medium sized Manchester City Centre Practice. He qualified at 21 and spent two years as Company Accountant in Trafford Park Manchester before moving back into practice as a partner in a two partner firm in Altrincham, Cheshire. He has continued as a Sole Practitioner since his partner retired.
He served for six years on the Audit Registration Committee and six years on the Practice Assurance Committee (latterly as Chairman). His commitment to our ICAEW members is evidenced by only missing two meetings (one on medical advice and one for his son’s wedding).
Many firms of Chartered Accountants are not large and these are the sort of smaller practices he seeks to support.
He is married with three children.
